This tour is the perfect way to explore the souks of the old medina of Marrakech! Bargain amazing deals and see the famous Djemaa El Fna Square.
To explore Marrakesh, enter an intricate maze of the narrow streets in the world of the souks. Protected from the sun by slatted awnings, you will find a diversity of quarters established by craftsmen, according to a structured system.
There are souks of basketwork, dried fruit, spices, clothes, wool, skins, Berber carpet, leather work, ironwork, jewelry and more! Some notable souks include the Rue du Souk Smarine which leads into the
Place rahba Kedima, where once took place a slave market (it remains an important commercial site). There are also a few apothecary shops here. There will be time for bargaining!
Next, we will visit Djemaa El Fna. This is a traditional meeting place for peasants and merchants from the Sous region, the High Atlas and the South, has become the center of Marrakech.
In the mornings this large square is crowded with fruit and spice sellers,
guerrab with their leather water bottles and metal drinking cups, basket sellers, ironmongers, and barbers. In the afternoon comes the Gnaoua dancers descendants of former Guinean slaves, musicians, storytellers, snake charmers and entertainers with performing monkeys!
There is no pickup at hotel. As the tour starts after lunch, participants must join the group on departure point in front of restaurant Palais Arabe located at the bottom of the police station's street in the famous Djema el Fna square. Please make sure you are the departure point at least 15 minutes before scheduled departure time.
