Uxmal, known as "the three times built", is located in an area of hills called Puuc, which breaks the monotony of the Yucatan plain. It is the most important city in the area because it reached 20,000 inhabitants in its splendor (600 - 900 AD). It is made up of 15 groups of buildings that cover about 2km, highlighting the pyramid of the fortune-teller (35 meters high), the quadrangle of the nuns and the governor's palace.
The haciendas have their origin with the encomiendas at the arrival of the Spaniards, they spread to America during the process of colonial expansion. The hacienda, generally included houses of important architectural value and other smaller buildings destined to the work in the field, were large plantations that revolved around a main house.
The cenotes are a term that has its origin in the Mayan word tz'onot and that means well or hollow. A cenote is a spring water reservoir with a depth that varies depending on its location and proximity to the coast.
