Explore the Historic Center of Quito in a 1914 Trolley, a replica of the trams that circulated in Quito in the last century. Visit all the must-see places in Quito like the Church of the Basilica, La Compañía, el Panecillo, the Independence Square, but also try some more authentic experiences like meeting a traditional "Panama Hats" handicraft man, going to a traditional ice-cream store, and learning to play traditional Ecuadorian games.
You can take morning tour at 8:20 AM or the afternoon tour at 2:20 PM.
We begin in the northern part of the city with a tour along the most important commercial areas, where most of the hotels in Quito are located. Then we head to the historic center to visit the Basilica del Voto Nacional, where you will have a chance to go in and see the church on your own.
We then reach the "Plaza de la Independencia" (Independence Square), where through a walking route you will see the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace and "La Compañia Church", recognized for its adornments and gold altars. You will have the chance to go in here and get a brief explanation of the importance of this church in Quito's history.
The tour will continue towards the Church of San Francisco, built in the seventeenth century, before going to the famous "La Ronda" neighborhood. In La Ronda you will really experience the authentic Quito culture by visiting and meeting a real handicraft man of makes "Panama hats" and / or trying exotic ice-cream flavors from one of the oldest ice-cream shops in the city.
We will end this tour at Panecillo hill, a place renowned for its beauty. Here you can admire a beautiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito and take as many selfies you like!
